Remember Frazzles? Yeah, I know right! Well, read on.
We’re back in America this time but over the other side in California, and we have something quite unusual for you. Uncle Vals Peppered Gin is definitely one hell of a head scratcher and tastes something in between a mescal, a gin and well yeah… Bacon! And it’s absolutely bloody brilliant!
How the combination of Red Bell Pepper, Black Pepper and Pimento create this cooked bacon flavour I will never know, but it does and it’s simply incredible. As with the rest of the range, this gin is distilled five times which helps give that clean character however, do not be mistaken, this gin still packs a huge amount of flavour!
I love this as a sipping gin and it doesn’t even need any ice. It is super complex with some classic American pine coming through along with a smoky character that sits nicely within a very vegetal and savoury over
tone. If you do want a G&T then serve this with plenty of ice, a lemon wheel and some fresh thyme. I love this - it’s weird, wonderful and just down right barmy! Very, very bloody different.
Cheers!
