Gin Blasts: Tarquin's 193 Navy Strength Limited Edition

So this limited edition beauty dropped in at The OC not long back, from one of our very favourite distillers out there. I'd heard whispers of a Navy Strength coming out from the South Western Distillery for a
little while, so was really eager to try it. And after a little persuasion, I had the chance to pop the cork and taste it. Well, my mind was blown, eyes were blown, face was blown and knees were blown! That is what happened. This is clearly not a gin to mess around with. Three of us tasted it at the same time and the room became eerily quiet before we all got a chance to catch our breath after the kicking we'd received in the throat by so much power, spice and juniper. We all needed to sit down for a moment and make sure we could see straight!
After drying our eyes following the initial moment we had with this incredible gin, it was clear to see that the floral notes from the original dry expression have been replaced with those classic Navy-esqe peppery, spice notes that compliment that high ABV so well. Serve this in a massive balloon glass, with plenty of ice, a large wheel of lemon and some black peppercorns and a few cardamom pods. Charged with Fever-Tree Indian Tonic to compliment the power.
This gin was lovingly created by Tarquin at the South Western Distillery to commemorate 771 search and rescue squadron last year before handing over duties to a civilian squadron. Only 771 bottles where produced and the squadrons emblem and motto ‘non nobis solum’ (not unto us alone) are on the bottle. This could be one to get hold of and keep nice and safe in the cellar. Or at least an extra one, so you can still enjoy the wonderful liquid!
Cheers!
