As cocktail competitions go, G'Vines Perspective is one amazing challenge. With a five day trip to Cognac and Paris on the cards for the oh so lucky winner, this is one competition that all you shakers and mixers undoubtedly need to get your cocktail-loving bodies involved in. Celebrating those who inspire with their unconventional point of view, this Global Challenge stands apart from the rest and pays homage to extraordinary people who have changed perspectives and inspired creative pursuits.

It’s a challenge that invites bartenders from across the globe to compete by choosing an unconventional inspiration to gracefully honour. Whether it is someone they have once worked with, an influential artist or simply an individual who has changed their view on the world, this Global Challenge is just so elegantly and beautifully about wanting to create for the better.

And it has already gathered speed. Industry leading names from around the world, such as Gaz Regan, Ryan Chetiyawardana, Alex Kratena and Jason Crawley, have been paying illustrious tributes to a superb and eclectic mix of inspirations ranging from Pablo Picasso, Dick Bradsell and Derren Brown. You can check out these entries over on the Challenge’s YouTube site.

G'Vine Global Trade Director, Jamie Walker, explains; 'We believe it is important to recognise those people that have challenged the norm and in turn given us the strength to challenge our own perspectives. That's the ethos our founder Jean-Sébastien Robicquet delivers in the production of G'Vine, a traditionally crafted gin, but made from grape distillate and vine flower."

And what a gloriously outstanding gin it is. So, if you want to pay homage to an idol, a remarkable soul who has give you such elevation, all you need to do is make a short video clip that illustrates why you have chosen your specific, inspirational individual and create a distinguished G'Vine signature serve that exquisitely captures their glorious spirit. Yeah, it really is that easy! There are no heats and no skills rounds, so you will be judged purely on your entry.

Winners will be then chosen from ten regions across the globe and judged by inimitable luminaries such as Phil Duff, Alex Kratena, Jamie Walker and Jean-Sébastien Robicquet himself. The Challenge closes 14th May 2015 and offers the winner an outstanding and unique money-can’t-buy experience in France, the home of G’Vine. It offers exhilarating activities that evoke the Challenge’s alternative perspectives ethos, with highlights including a hot air balloon, Michelin star cooking course, VIP tours and tastings inside Cognac houses, plus a session with a master blender in a Parisian perfume house.

And here, at We Are Distilled, we wanted in on the action too. So we’ll be bringing you all the new entries as the weeks roll on plus we’ll be reviewing these elegant gins. So, get inspired, become a visionary and celebrate those who give you the enthusiasm and illumination to be unconventional.

Oh and one last thing, we’ve been lucky enough to receive some inside information, are you ready? Great! Well, although video skills are not part of the judging criteria, videos shot from unconventional angles or interesting locations might just win a bonus prize or two! So, get creative!

For more information you can head on over to www.gvineperspectives.com and you can also follow the progress on Facebook, Instagram: @GVinePerspectives and Twitter @gvineperspectives.

Let this unconventional battle commence!
