Want to get stuck in to some new vodka but don’t want to sell your well-needed liver for it? Well we’ve compiled 10 vodkas for under thirty quid that will sure get your taste buds going but keep your pockets happy…

Made by the same guys behind Sipsmith London Dry Gin, Sloe Gin and VJOP, this damn fine sipping vodka is made from English wheat and distilled in Prudence, their 300 litre copper pot still. It is bottled unfiltered and has been designed to sip every so beautifully over ice.

Another dram we so elegantly admire (read our full review), this uber green goddess is made in the crystal clear airs of Borgarnes in Iceland, and is a small batch vodka that delivers exquisite clarity and smoothness. It uses arctic spring water that has been naturally filtered through a 4000 year old lava rock field and is distilled in one of only six carter head stills made in the world.

This creamy, triple distilled Polish vodka is made from potatoes and offers one really tasty dram. It’s name literally means ‘luxury vodka’ so you know it’s going to be pretty damn good! It’s an amazing vodka for its price.

Distilled in a house in Highgate, London, this organic beauty has been made from Soil Association approved grain since 1997. It is a micro-distilled vodka that delivers a clean and crisp taste. So if you have a conscience then this is right up your street!

We reviewed this bovine beauty (read our full review) and we can’t recommend it enough. This vodka is the world’s first pure milk vodka and is made down is West Dorset by dairy farmer and award winning cheese maker, Jason Barber. It’s a really great, smooth vodka with a wonderful creamy texture.

Ok, so this might be 49p over the thirty quid mark but it’s one hell of a vodka that we have to include. Made by the same guys that make Tyrells crisps (all the potatoes that don’t make the cut for crisps head straight to the vodka), this vodka is pretty much a must for any spirit lover.

This crisp, English vodka surely has a history and, to be fair, a great name too! The beet-based spirit can be traced back to 1906 when it was stirred up by the Sigurdsson family in Iceland but hit the headlines in ’92 when it was banned in the US for ‘promising poison and plague but only delivering vodka’. Not sure we’d want a bottle of poison rather than vodka, but hey, that’s America for you!

ELLC.jpg

Made over in East London’s Bow and based in an old glue factory, ELLC is made using British wheat and distilled using their copper pot still. It is one great small batch vodka that delivers on taste and smoothness.

This tip-top vodka is from the guys at Adnams Southwold brewers. Using their extensive beer knowledge, they’ve crafted this awesome vodka from a distilled beer wash before putting it through a copper pot still and purifying in rectification columns. And if you’ve not tried it yet then what are you bloody waiting for, eh?

blackdown.jpg

Made using wheat and filtered seven times, Blackdown is the first vodka to be produced in the county of Sussex. It is finished with a hint of sap from Silver Birch trees for extra sweetness and tree-worthy goodness!
